5,0 von 5 Sternen Inspiring read
Bewertet in Großbritannien am 27. Januar 2016
Eat Right, from the co-founder of Rude Health, is a really good read. It's also fascinating. I would call myself a reasonable cook and also someone who knows a little about food. I love spending time in the kitchen creating new dishes, but this book has been a revelation. It really stretches you and entices you to venture into unchartered territory, which I find truly exciting. I actually want to try making ghee myself!
It is also a fascinating lesson in health and the properties of foods - how their true goodness make themselves available to our bodies. I have learned many unknown facts about the benefits of certain food combinations. Did you know that spinach and carrots are so much better for us when cooked with butter? I for one, am delighted by that fact! The benefit of fat in our diets is a pleasure to read particularly in this age of faddish and often misleading 'no fat' dietary advice.
Nick Barnard really knows what he's talking about and his passion for good health and nutritious food comes through at the turn of every page.
Many of the recipes Nick walks you through, I would never have thought of making at home and I'm really looking forward to trying some of them out. Other recipes are simple, delicious combinations of foods we all know about, but accompanied by interesting facts and extra delights.
He talks so passionately about food, water and the simple things in life that our bodies need and what food can do to improve our health and help us live longer! Who wouldn't want to indulge in this new way of looking at what we put in our bodies?
It is a book you can read from cover to cover or one you can dip into now and again. I have found it riveting . I've already learned so much I never knew.
I would highly recommend this colourfully presented and beautifully written book.
I know I will be absorbed for a long time to come and what's more, it has made me keen to investigate more about the fads that overwhelm us in the press and question what really is good and bad for us, because I am beginning to realise that all is not as it seems!.....and much of what Nick tells us is very good news indeed, because all this 'low fat' propaganda is really not good for us at all.
So buy it and be prepared to change those preconceived ideas we all have and in the process, change your eating habits for ever!
As the saying goes, "knowledge is power, knowledge is safety and knowledge is happiness".....and knowledge is definitely something this book will give you.

This is one of the best books on REAL food I have, and I have many! It's absolutely beautiful, with so many lessons and techniques and invaluable information about food and traditional food wisdom. This book is completely in accordance with the Weston A. Price philosophy of nutrition. This book has quickly become my favorite. An absolute gem. Couldn't recommend it enough!!!

5,0 von 5 Sternen Sugar Free Junkie: Book Of The Month!
Bewertet in Großbritannien am 9. Juni 2016
This book was Sugar Free Junkie's 'Book of the Month' for June. It isn't often you can really enjoy READING a cook book. I'm used to 'ooo-ing' as I scan over recipes (and then only making the ones with the nicest photos or fewest ingredients). But this book (and it is a book, not just a cook book) took me by surprise. It has taken permanent residence on the coffee table because above all, it is INTERESTING! 'EAT RIGHT gives us a tool to make not just good, but informed choices amidst busy normal lives.

Nick Barnard (co-founder of RUDE HEALTH) takes the reader back to basics and explains in a positive way not just how but why we should ‘EAT RIGHT'. The book is packed with easy-to-follow recipes alongside well-written information about ingredients, the recipes’ origins, and nutritional properties. It’s like a cookbook got frisky with a dictionary. A food education! A fooducation! It starts with a short introduction before going on to cover all main food groups with – HURRAH! – some everyday recipes too. Burgers, pizza, biscuits, mash - the list goes on and there’s even alcohol. Not to mention some real dinner party showstoppers and more time-intensive processes like fermenting and bread-making.

I give it 5*s. If you’re like me and the closest you regularly get to a farmers’ market is watching Countryfile on a Sunday evening - don't panic: this book still works. Nick Barnard has done a great job of bringing the everyday kitchen an everyday book which will not so much sit on the shelf but takeover the counter. It is informative about real food without making the reader feel out of depth. At £19.99 (on Amazon) it isn't cheap, but when you take into account how many recipes there are (all natural ingredients and free from refined sugar) this is actually a fantastic investment. I guarantee there will be something for you in here.
